Abstract

Religious life passed through various phases in the Anatolian landscape from the 13th century to the late 16th. In this milieu, which brought up many Sufis and Sufi poets starting with Yunus Emre, many Sufi orders and religious schools of thought that can be categorized under the rubric of Batiniyya appeared and spread such as Babaism, Abdalism, Bektashism, Hurufism, Kizilbashism, Qalandariyya and Haydarism, and consequently the Babai event occurred. Kizilbashism constitutes only one layer of this religious and ethnic differentiation observed in Anatolia in the 13th century.
