The local administration system was also rearranged during this changing process. Within these arrangements, it was decided to open printing houses in every province within the scope of the governorship. Thus, it became possible of the emergence of the print houses in many provinces of Anatolia.The first printing house in Elazig was founded in 1866 during the reign of Hacıİzzet Pasha. In this printing house, stationery works and some books were printed. In this printing house, which was interrupted for a certain period of time, Ma'mûratü'l-azîzVilayet Newspaper, which was the first newspaper published in this province, bearing Elazig's name in the Ottoman period, began its publication on October 7, 1883. Thus, the life of press-publication started in Elazığ province. After this state-run newspaper, Şark newspaper, the first private newspaper of Elazığ, started broadcasting.In the period of National Struggle, the Satvet-iMilliye Newspaper, which followed a broadcasting policy supporting the National Struggle, entered into the publishing life.Ma'mûratü'l-azîz and the Şark Newspapers continued to be published even during the Republican period. While these publications continued their publishing life, on 16 March 1925 YeniMefkûre Newspaper took its step to publishing life. The YeniMefkûre Newspaper, which was launched during the Sheikh Said Rebellion, watched a national broadcasting policy, especially with regard to the values of the republic and the integrity of the country.The news and commentary on the Sheikh Said rebellion in particular, the issues on the agenda of the country, the problems of the Elazığ province and the news about the province are widely seen in the columns of the newspaper.Besides, literary texts and poems were also included.In this study, Yeni Mefkûre Newspaper, which was published in Elazığ in a painful process in the first years of the Republic and which continued its publishing life about a year, will be introduced.The purpose of the newspaper, the publication policy, the publication period, the writer's staff, and physical characteristics are going to be examined.Along with this, information about political, social and cultural aspects and its contributions to the period throughout the publication life will be given.},author={Yavuz HAYKIR},year={2017},journal={Journal of History School}}
