Investıgatıng Teacher Perceptıons on Physıcal Condıtıons of School Buıldıngs in Terms of Some Varıables
The aim of this study is to determine the physical conditions of school buildings according the perceptions of teachers in primary schools. The research population consists of 2450 teachers from 92 primary schools in the central district of Diyarbakır in the academic year of 2017-2018. The data collection instrument was applied to randomly selected 534 teachers from 27 schools. In this study “School Buildings Scale" developed by Çağlayan and Yılmaz (2011) was used. The level of significance was 0.05. Some important findings of the study are listed below: For the whole scale, the mean of the physical conditions of school buildings according the perceptions of teachers (X = 2.99; Partially Sufficient) was determined. There was a significant difference among the teachers' perceptions about the physical conditions of the school buildings according to gender only in dimension of ”care and safety” but according to the marital status and educational status, there was a significant difference in all dimensions.
