Abstract
Bu araştırma, ebeveynlerin çocuklarının kariyer seçimleri üzerinde doğrudan ve dolaylı etkilerinin bulunduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Ailelerin verdikleri tavsiyelerin, bireylerin meslek tercihlerini ve dolayısıyla yaşam tarzlarını önemli ölçüde şekillendirdiği vurgulanmıştır. Ayrıca, öğrencilerin, öğretmenlerin ve ailelerin meslek seçiminde bireysel ilgi ve yeteneklerin yanı sıra çevresel faktörleri de göz önünde bulundurması gerektiği ifade edilmiştir. Araştırmanın amacı, ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin yükseköğretim programı tercihlerinde etkili olan faktörleri incelemektir. Çalışma, nitel bir desen kullanılarak durum çalışması modeliyle gerçekleştirilmiş ve veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği tercih edilmiştir. Veriler, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan form ile toplanmış ve uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda geçerlik ve güvenilirlik sağlanmıştır. Analizler, katılımcıların görüşlerine uygun doğrudan alıntılarla desteklenmiş ve verilerin güvenilirliğini artırmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre, meslek seçimi üzerinde en etkili faktörler ekonomik kaygılar, mesleğin prestiji, öğrencinin kişilik özellikleri, ilgi alanları ve yetenekleridir. Bununla birlikte, sosyo-kültürel yapı ve aile gibi faktörlerin daha çok öğrenciler için belirleyici olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca, öğrencilerin ekonomik durumlarının genellikle iyi olmadığı ve çoğunun meslek seçiminde ekonomik getirinin önemli bir kriter olduğunu belirttikleri anlaşılmaktadır. Hem öğrenciler hem de öğretmenler, meslek seçiminde aile, rehberlik servisi, kişisel tercihler ve sosyal çevre gibi etkenleri eşit derecede önemli bulmuşlardır.

Abstract
The research highlights that parents significantly influence their children's career decisions, both directly and indirectly, particularly due to their cohabitation with their children. It emphasizes that the career advice families provide shapes individuals' future occupational choices, significantly impacting their lifestyle and societal presence. Furthermore, it is stated that students, teachers, and families should make career choices based on individual interests, abilities, and aspirations while also considering the influence of environmental factors in this process. The study examines the factors influencing secondary school students' career choices when selecting higher education programs. The study employs a qualitative design using the case study model, with semi-structured interviews as the data collection tool. The data was collected through a form prepared by the researcher, with validity and reliability ensured through expert opinions. The data analysis was supported by direct quotations from participants, which enhanced the validity of the findings. According to the findings of the study, the most influential factors on career choice include economic concerns, the prestige of the profession, the student’s personality traits, interests, and abilities. Additionally, factors such as socio-cultural structure and family are particularly decisive for students. It was also observed that students often do not have a favorable economic situation, and many of them identified the economic benefits of a profession as a key criterion in their career choice. Both students and teachers found factors such as family, guidance services, personal preferences, and social environment to be equally important in the career decision-making process.
