Abstract
Araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul öğrencilerinin görsel okuma başarısını belirlemeye yönelik test geliştirmektir. Test geliştirme sürecinde amaç belirleme, madde yazımı, örneklem seçimi, ön uygulama, veri toplama ve analiz etme aşamaları sırasıyla uygulanmıştır. Madde yazımında, 2019 Türkçe Öğretim Programı’nda görsel okumayla ilişkilendirilebilecek kazanımlar temel alınmıştır. Alanyazın taraması sonucunda madde havuzu oluşturulmuş, maddelerin kapsam ve dil geçerliliği için Türkçe Eğitimi veya Eğitim Bilimleri alanlarında çalışan 5 akademisyenden uzman görüşü alınmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Gaziantep ilindeki bir ortaokulda öğrenim gören 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf seviyesindeki 286 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Veriler; betimsel istatistikler, madde analizleri, korelasyon ve bağımsız örneklemler t-testi uygulanarak elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizi SPSS 22 paket programı kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda testin tüm maddelerinin ayırt edicilik indekslerinin 0,20’nin üzerinde olduğu, tüm maddeler için üst grup ortalaması lehine anlamlı fark elde edildiği, iç tutarlılık katsayısının 0,66 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen kanıtlar, testin güvenirlik ve geçerliğinin yeterli düzeyde olduğunu ve ortaokul öğrencilerinin görsel okuma başarı düzeylerini ölçmede kullanılabileceğini ortaya koymuştur.

Abstract
The aim of the study is to develop a test to determine the visual reading success of secondary school students. In the test development process, the stages of purpose determination, item writing, sample selection, preliminary application, data collection and analysis were applied in order. The item writing was based on the achievements that can be associated with visual reading in the 2019 Turkish Curriculum. An item pool was created as a result of the literature review, and expert opinions were received from 5 academicians working in the fields of Turkish Education or Educational Sciences for the scope and language validity of the items. The study group consisted of a total of 286 students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades studying at a secondary school in Gaziantep. The data were obtained by applying descriptive statistics, item analysis, correlation and independent samples t-test. Data analysis was carried out using the SPSS 22 package program. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the discrimination indexes of all items of the test were above 0.20, a significant difference was obtained in favor of the upper group average for all items, and the internal consistency coefficient was 0.66. The evidence obtained revealed that the reliability and validity of the test were sufficient and that it could be used to measure the visual reading success levels of secondary school students.
