Abstract

Hocazades prepared the ground for rising the scholar families who are a big scholar family and it is based on the Hodja Sadeddin Master whos was a teaher of two Sultans. Many people were from his family who worked in different tasks like Shaykh al-Islam, military service, kadi etc. Their most obvious qualification is being poet and using it in giving fatwas. In Ottoman, most in verse fatwas were given by the member of this family and 12 of 22 in verse fatwas which are at hand belong to this family. In Ottoman, the in verse fatwas were seen in the second half of 16.century and started to decrese increasingly. Namely, when the government and Sultan were at the top, in verse fatwas took its place in that atmosphere. Deriving from the root fetâ in Arabic, fatwas espress solving an ambiguous issue with a very strong response. In Ottoman, Hodja Sadeddin Master who is one of the most primary Shaykh al-Islam, holds the tittle hâce-i şehriyârî and his sons and grandsons maintained this tradition. One of his grandsons Ebû Sa’îd Mehmed Master who followed this way, is a Shaykh al-Islam and gave some in verse fatwas that are literary very strong too. In that article, two in verse fatwas will be intoduced which are fasten down.
