Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the literature at the intersection of education and organizational behavior indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection through bibliometric analysis and to evaluate publication trends from the perspective of educational administration. The data were retrieved on May 1, 2024, through a Topic (TS) search (title, abstract, and keywords) using the terms “education,” “educational administration/educational management,” and “organizational behavior,” restricted to English-language publications and without any document type restriction. The dataset consists of 1,787 records published between 1991 and 2024 (1,375 articles, 165 proceedings papers, 121 reviews, and other document types). The analyses were conducted with the Bibliometrix R package and its web interface, Biblioshiny. The findings show that the number of publications increased from the 2000s onward and rose markedly between 2020 and 2022; because 2024 includes only about four months of data, it was excluded from the trend interpretation. Sustainability published the most documents; however, this result was not regarded as sufficient evidence of the thematic importance of sustainability in the field. By corresponding author’s country, the USA, China, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia were the leading countries; Türkiye ranked eleventh, and the share of multiple-country publications in its output was very low. The most frequent keywords were management, performance, and behavior, while ethical leadership, knowledge management, and corporate social responsibility emerged as recent trend topics. The fact that a substantial share of the most cited publications came from entrepreneurship, business school education, and general management indicates that the dataset includes not only educational administration studies but also management education and general organizational behavior research. The findings should be interpreted within this scope limitation.
