Çalışma, The Wild Robot (Vahşi Robot) filmini aile ve iletişim bağlamında Sembolik Etkileşim Teorisi üzerinden incelenmesini konu almaktadır.
The study examines The Wild Robot film within the context of family and communication through the lens of Symbolic Interaction Theory. The study is significant in that it approaches the institution of the family as a product of interaction, language and the process of meaning-making, rather than biological requirements such as known blood ties and kinship. The scenes from the film Wild Robot, examined using the phenomenological method, were analysed through the lens of Symbolic Interaction Theory, focusing on the phenomena of family and communication. Roz (Rozum 7134), an artificial intelligence-powered robot, is not human, but in the film it is considered worthy of research for its human-like actions shaped by the robot's experience, the emotional dimensions of family and communication phenomena, and its ability to offer an interpretation beyond the conventional perception of these two phenomena. In this context, the study aims to describe the animated film Wild Robot from the perspective of Symbolic Interaction Theory using phenomenological methods, focusing on the concepts of family and communication as they change in the digital world, and to uncover the meanings attached to them. The study confirms the conclusion that the family is a concept based on social interaction without blood ties or kinship, and that forms of communication are shaped by this interaction and undergo change.
