Abstract
Değerler, toplumsal birlik ve beraberliği sağlayan ve bu birlik ve beraberliğin uyumlu ve devamlı hale gelmesini temin eden en önemli unsurlardan biridir. İnsanın hayatına yön veren ve onun hayatını inşa eden değerler, aynı zamanda insanın anlam arayışına katkı sunan faktörlerdir. Bu bakımdan değerler kültürel anlamda hem bireyin hem de toplumun temel yapıtaşlarını meydana getirirler. Bilim, teknoloji, kitle iletişim araçları vb. faktörlerin de etkisiyle, son yıllarda toplumsal alanda hızlı değişimler meydana gelmiştir. Bu değişimler arasında “toplumsal bozulma” olarak nitelendirilebilecek farklılaşmaların da olması, okullarda değerler eğitimi konusunu gündeme getirmiştir. Bu amaçla son yılarda değerlerin bireylere nasıl aktarılacağı hususunda araştırmalar yapılmış ve buna uygun eğitim programları geliştirilmeye başlanmıştır. Değerlerin aktarılmasında, aile, okul, çevre gibi çok farklı boyutlar sürece dahil olduğundan, değerler eğitiminde farklı yöntem ve uygulamaların geliştirilmesi gerekmektedir. Zira yapılan araştırmalarda, telkin yönteminin değer öğretiminde fazla etkili olmadığı görülmektedir. Buradan hareketle bu çalışmada izciliğin, değerler eğitiminde alternatif bir yöntem olup olmayacağı tartışılmıştır.

Abstract
Values are one of the most important elements that provide social unity and solidarity and ensure that this unity and solidarity become harmonious and permanent. The values that shape and build the life of man are also factors that contribute to the search for meaning. In this respect, values constitute the basic building blocks of both the individual and the society in a cultural sense. Science, technology, mass media, etc. with the influence of factors, rapid changes have occurred in the social field in recent years. The existence of differentiations that can be described as “social disruption” among these changes brought the issue of values education in the agenda to the agenda.nFor this purpose, studies have been carried out on how to transfer values to children and appropriate educational programs started to be developed. Since many different dimensions such as family, school, environment are involved in the transfer of values, different methods and practices should be developed in value education. Because, it is seen in studies that suggestion method is not very effective in value teaching. From this point of view, it is discussed whether scouting is an alternative method in values education.
