Abstract

The study examines the effects of some socio-demographic characteristics of students on their attitudes towards physical education. With the physical education course, it is necessary to measure the planned gains and make predictions in this direction. The model of the study is the meta-analysis method, which is one of the methods of synthesizing the research results. Attitudes of high school students towards physical education and sports lesson were examined; The main data source of this research is scientific articles, master's and doctoral theses. As a result of the tests, it was revealed that there was no publication bias. According to the fixed effects model, the mean effect size value was in favor of male students in terms of g = 0.287 and in the random effects model an effect size of 0.271 was found. As a result of the moderator analysis, it was determined that variables such as research region (p = 0.638), type of study (p = 0.622), gender of the researcher (p = 0.432) were not a moderator for the calculated average effect size. It can be said that the gender variable does not have a significant effect on the attitudes of high school students towards physical education and sports lesson.
