In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of Fernald Method, which is used to overcome the reading difficulties of students who have reading difficulties. In the study, the effect of Fernald Method on student's reading speed, word recognition percentage and reading comprehension skill was determined. In the research, single-subject research method, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used. In the research using criterion sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods, the study was carried out with the fourth grade student who was found to have reading difficulties. In the study, False Analysis Inventory, which Akyol (2003) adapted from Ekwall and Shanker (1988, s. 412), was applied to the student before and after the study. The study was carried out in 10 days, with the aim of teaching 4 words in total, 40 words in two days apart. The data of the research were statistically analyzed. In the study, it was found that there was an increase in the reading speed, word recognition level and reading comprehension skill scores of the student who studied. It was concluded that Fernald Method, which is used in students with reading difficulties, is effective in the student's reading speed, word recognition percentage and reading comprehension skills.
