Investigation of Rafadan Tayfa Cartoon in Terms of Root Values in Turkish Language Teaching Program

Abstract

Children spend most of their time at digital screens such as televisions, tablets, computers. The most frequently encountered content on these screens is cartoons. Rafadan Tayfa is one of the most watched cartoons that children in Turkey. The purpose of this study is to examine Rafadan Tayfa in terms of justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism and helpfulness in the Turkish Lesson Curriculum. The study object of the study, which is carried out with a single state pattern, which is one of the qualitative research methods, consists of ten episodes being the first show year of 2018. Data collection was done by document analysis and analysis was done by descriptive analysis. As a result of the research, a total of 742 values were determined in the examined sections. 674 of these are verbal and 68 of them are visual. It was realized that the most repeated value had been self-control value. Responsibility and respect follow this value in turn. As for the least determined value, it was patriotism.
